Day 1-Arrive and settle into your hotel for your 4 night break
Day 2-This morning we make the short journey to Shrewsbury Prison for a 2 hour guide tour which is led by ex-prison officers who worked these very landings and recount tales of life inside. Stepping back in time to 1610 to the present day, who were the infamous inmates, how many escaped, when was the last hanging, how do drugs get into jail, all are just a handful of questions you may want to ask.
Your tour will take in a traditional prison wing, cells furnished as they were left, segregation, prison kitchens, hangman’s bedroom and the hanging room, amongst other areas throughout your tour. As long as your not left behind in one of the cells we then head off for a 45 minute River Severn Loop cruise before we head back to you cell, sorry your hotel!
Day 3-This morning we head to Shrewsbury Castle which houses the Shropshire Regimental Museum including exhibits from the 18th Century to the present day. One visit & you will never forget the battle of Shrewsbury (1403) or the more recent King's Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI). All exhibits are well presented & preserved despite having been the target of an IRA bombing on August 25, 1992. You will then have some free time to explore Shrewsbury at leisure.
Day 4-Today we make our way to Kidderminster for a ride on the Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth after which you will be met by your coach before we head off to Wroxeter Roam Vineyard for a Tour and tasting (3 Wines) before we make our way back to your hotel for your final evening to discuss the highlights of your trip with your fellow passengers.

The Story begins in 1907, when permission was granted for a ‘grand’ new hotel. Two years later the Strand Palace opened its doors. At that time, a single room with breakfast would have set you back five shillings and six pence – just 27p in today’s money.
The Strand Palace would now be unrecognisable to guests from the Edwardian era, but links with the past still remain: a few Art Deco touches are visible inside and outside the building; guests from the war years still return to relive their memories. Outside, the Strand remains a buzzing focal point of West End life, just as it was in 1909.
